I am a final year student of BSc Architecture (RIBA part 1) at the University of Reading. Over the past few, turbulent, and interesting, years learning what it means to become an architect at university, I have developed and grown as an individual in a design-based world. My pre-existing interest in housing and small community-based projects has blossomed into a passion for design which benefits small communities and social based briefs. I believe that I would flourish working on social housing, small scale accommodation and public community projects where making peoples lives better is at the forefront of the design. I have a keen eye for small details, and love when a design really starts coming together so that all the finer points can be hashed out.
My love of art has developed into a special care taken when bringing a project to life with visual images and models; visualisation and communication was one of my favourite and best performing modules. Through visualisaiton and design studio I have also discovered my interest in landscape design, one of my favourite landscape designers being Piet Oudolf; I have learnt that the way a building or space sits in its context can really elevate it, the building should reflect its surroundings and the landscape design should become a harmonious joining of the two.
Technically I have become advanced in most software and have found that I am an incredibly quick learner digitally, though more on this can be seen on the LinkedIn link at the top right of the page.
In the future I am hoping to join a small scale social based practice for my year in practice, before going on to complete my masters in architecture, further qualifying as an architect, and then designing for a practice that aligns with my views and principles in architecture. I am excited to keep learning and developing!
